ABOUT AMERICAN MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY

American Martial Arts Academy was born out of the idea that there must be more to martial arts than just a style or form.  Martial Arts spans a wide area of education from philosophy to combat.

We have come to believe that many years ago when the westerner  desired to learn a martial art from the Asian, the attitude was basically "how can you teach the impossible to the incompetent."

Therefore, they only taught what they considered the student without honor could learn.

ShunShifu Allen Casselman share the common concept the most martial arts being taught in America is inefficient in true combat situations,  as many others in this field have come to discover.

By combining the teachings of many styles and forms, capitalizing on the functionality of each, dedicating oneself to the varied applications and differences in opponents, environments, and all around conditions  White Dragon has been brought forward into today's world.

When one looks at the trend of martial arts, one sees tournaments consisting of dance routines and "tag your it" fighting.  Neither teach self defense or combat that will work in real situations.

There are many instructors that have come to the same conclusion but few have actually been placed in positions to use what they are teaching to determine the usefulness.  Some have taught others that have successfully used what they have learned and yet some have still failed.

The true answer to the question "which style is better?" is always in the hands of the practitioner not the style, art or system.

At American Martial Arts Academy we work with each individual to expand and enhance their own ability in specific areas not generalities.
